The Ski Standard is a modern ski publication covering travel, gear, culture and the wider ski scene.

We love skiing. We just don't pretend it's the only thing in our lives.

The Ski Standard is for people who spend too much time thinking about their next trip to the mountains, but also have jobs, families, mortgages, school runs and a limited number of days each winter to actually go skiing.

That means making those days count.

We cover the resorts worth travelling to, the gear worth spending money on and the people, places and ideas shaping skiing today. You'll find hotel and resort guides alongside equipment reviews, interviews, opinion, après-ski, new openings and stories from across ski culture.

We're interested in the big names, but we're equally interested in the independent ski maker doing something differently, the mountain restaurant worth taking a detour for, the small resort that deserves more attention or the person finding a new way to make skiing more accessible.

The Ski Standard isn't about telling you that every new jacket is essential, every resort is a hidden gem or that you need to dedicate your entire life to the mountains to belong here. It's about skiing as part of a good life.
